| Wednesday, January 21st was the first annual "Wear Your Explo Lanyard to School" Day. Started by David Gumins [Junior Student '06-'07, Intermediate Student '08], the holiday was intended as a way for alums to "show our Explo pride and officially remember the times we had at Explo," David said. In December, David created a Facebook group that invited more than 600 Exploration students and faculty to wear their summer lanyard throughout the day. More than 300 alums participated, including Elliot Targum, the Intermediate Program Head, who wore his lanyard into the Exploration office on that day. David says that he is already looking forward to making Lanyard Day II an even greater success! |

Aric Floyd [Junior Student '08] recently performed on tour in Lorraine Hansberry's A Raisin in the Sun. The troupe, part of the Penumbra Theatre Company of St. Paul, MN, performed the play in cities across the US this past winter and spring.
Still only a middle-schooler, Aric got his start in the theater scene seven years ago somewhat by accident. While accompanying his sister to an audition for A Christmas Carol, Aric was asked to try out for the part of Tiny Tim. He won the role, he says, by singing "Happy Birthday". As a member of the cast of A Raisin in the Sun, Aric was offered a card in the professional Actors' Equity Association union. He says that though he wanted to accept, he decided that it would be better for his acting career -- because many jobs are at nonunion theaters -- not to join up (. . . at least not just yet). |

Aric! It's great to hear
Aric! It's great to hear from you! Just in case you missed me, it's Cameron Rohall, from Junior last year. I think you're the person I think you are, and if you're not ... well sorry.
